Pistons Plan To Sign Carsen Edwards To Two-Year Deal

The Detroit Pistons plan to sign guard Carsen Edwards to a two-year contract. Edwards will sign a prorated veteran minimum contract with Detroit for the remainder of this season, with an additional likely non-guaranteed season tacked on for 2022-23.

Edwards was waived by the Memphis Grizzlies this offseason after a trade sent him there from the Boston Celtics. Edwards then spent the season with the Salt Lake City Stars of the G League.

The 5’11” guard was one of the G League’s top scorers this season. Edwards averaged 26.7 points and 4.2 assists in 31 G League games.

In 68 games with the Boston Celtics over the first two seasons of his career, Edwards averaged 3.6 points in 9.2 minutes per game.
